Aisle of the Flags has been selected as the August recipient of the Three Degree Guarantee.
The Aisle of the Flags will receive $20 from Eriksen Chevrolet for each day of the month that the actual temperature is within three degrees of the forecasted high temperature. Each night, Storm Team 8 will predict the next day’s high temperature. The forecasted temperatures are compared to the actual temperatures recorded by the National Weather Service.
The goal of Aisle of the Flags is to spread patriotism by displaying American flags in the Geneseo area. Almost 35 years ago, a group of women organized volunteers to put up flags in the city park aisle as a tribute to veterans past and present. Each year, more than 100 volunteers – kids and adults – turn the park into a sea of red, white and blue. On July 4th, there are more than 700 flags on display.
