Tony Reynolds says he's not going to worry about Cory Gregory's attempt to get out of prison sooner, and hopes a judge rules against the man who helped kill his daughter.

"He's just grasping at straws. What, he's been locked up ten years, and he knows he's going to be there a long time", Reynolds said.

In 2006, Gregory, then 17, was sentenced to 45 years in prison for his role in the murder and dismemberment of 15-year- old Adrienne Reynolds.  His friend, Sara Kolb, then 16, was sentenced to 53 years in prison.

"He's probably thinking how stupid he was, because I still believe the only reason he's there is because he listened to Sara. He didn't go there to kill Adrienne. I ain't saying he's innocent, he helped, and he's guilty. But, he done it for Sara", said Reynolds.

Gregory, now 28,  has filed  handwritten requests for a hearing to have his sentence re-visited, calling it "excessive".  He is also requesting an attorney to help with his post-conviction relief. A judge will decide if the request proceeds any further.

For now, Gregory's earliest parole date would come close to his 60th birthday. Reynolds says, he hopes he lives to see the day.

"I want to beat his ass, and I think he's got it coming. I think any dad would want that", said Reynolds.

The Rock Island County States Attorney's office has 30 days to file a response.

"There no chance he's gonna get it. I don't think", Reynolds said.
