FULTON, Ill. — A Fulton man already listed on a sex offender registry was arrested and charged with felony home invasion and criminal sexual assault following a disturbance in the Whiteside County town on July 24.
Samson S. Pepper, 34, was initially charged with domestic battery after Fulton Police responded to reports of a “disturbance in the roadway” in the 700 block of 12th Avenue in Fulton. Further investigation, however, led to the felony charges.
According to Illinois court records, Samson pleaded guilty last May to violating the terms of the sex offender registry. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail and 48 months of probation on May 25. His previous conviction, according to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department offender watch website, was for aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim aged 13 to 16.
Following his Thursday arrest, Samson was transported to the Whiteside County Jail where he remains on $200,000 bond.
