It's July 27th, 2004. John Kerry is running for president and a convention is being held in his honor in Boston, Massachusetts.

It's Tuesday night and a man almost no one has ever heard of takes the stage. His name is Barack Obama. He's an Illinois State Senator.

Do you remember what happens next?

Obama delivers the 2004 DNC keynote address and the room goes wild. People say a star is born.

Flash-forward 12 years, and the now-President Obama is 7 and a half years into his presidency. He's taking the stage for a different reason tonight: to speak on behalf of his former opponent-turned-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

President Obama is set to explain why Clinton would make a good president and why Trump wouldn't. Obama previewed his address in an interview this morning, saying, "What I think is scary is a president who doesn't know their stuff and doesn't seem to have an interest in learning what you don't know."

Vice President Joe Biden and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg also delivered prime-time addresses earlier tonight.
