Moline police looking to link injured suspect in Henry County accident to armed robbery

Moline police are trying to link a man injured in a crash after a police pursuit in Henry County to the armed robbery of a downtown Moline convenience store on ...

Moline Police believe a man who was injured following a pursuit in Henry County following a robbery in Colona may be the same man who robbed the LeClaire Food Mart at gunpoint Saturday morning.

Moline police responded to an armed robbery call just after 6:30 a.m. at the convenience store at 1830 5th Avenue. The owner of the store and a clerk who was working the morning shift told police that a white male brandishing a handgun entered the store and demanded the key's to the clerk's vehicle - a black 2014 Toyota Camry.

That vehicle was later used in a Colona-area robbery, pursued by Henry County Sheriff's deputies and crashed in rural Henry County. The suspect was seriously injured in the rollover accident and airlifted to a Peoria area hospital for treatment. Police attempted to interview the suspect Monday, but he refused to cooperate. Moline police say detectives are still positively trying to link him through video evidence from the convenience store surveillance camera and witness interviews and ask anyone in the public with information to contact them at (309) 524-2132.

The following screen shots from the surveillance video are being circulated on social media:
