DAVENPORT, Iowa-- The police and fire departments from both Rock Island and Davenport played in their annual Battle of the Badges softball game, Sunday, July 24.
The goal was to raise money for GiGi's Playhouse Quad Cities, a non-profit organization that helps children and adult living with Down Syndrome.
"We thought they were a good organization. To assist those with Down Syndrome children and adults and everything they offer is free, so we thought that they were a very deserving organization," says Rock Island Firefighter, Blake Humphrey.
Team Davenport won the game with a final score of 10 to 7. This is their first win in three years.
