GALESBURG, Illinois — An overnight fire destroyed a garage and two vehicles, according to a statement from the city.
When firefighters arrived, a large garage in the 500 block of North Chambers Street and two cars parked outside were on fire, officials said. It was reported just after 4 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016.
“The fire had already burned completely through the roof upon arrival,” read the statement.
Firefighters were on scene for two hours putting out the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
