St. Ambrose partners with community colleges for seamless transition

The new “2+2 Agreement” allows students studying business, health sales and elementary education a clear pathway to a four-year degree program.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Getting a bachelor's degree from St. Ambrose University just got easier for local community college students.

Students can now follow a plan to complete two years at Scott, Muscatine or Clinton community colleges, then have all their credits transferred to St. Ambrose, where they can complete their degree.

The new "2+2 Agreement" allows students studying business, health sales and elementary education a clear pathway to a four-year degree program.

"We have been working for some time, with our provost and other academic administrators at both institutions, to find ways to develop a system so that the transition is seamless for our students," said Sister Joan Lescinski, St. Ambrose University President.

St. Ambrose sees about 200 new transfer students each year. About 40 percent come from Eastern Iowa Community colleges.
