Tom Brady may not be allowed to pass a pigskin the first four games of this NFL season due to his “Deflategate” suspension, but he is passing on speaking at the Republican National Convention which kicks off Monday.

Tim Tebow, however, will be there.

Brady initially was floated as a speaker at next week’s GOP gathering. But according to a list obtained by The Associated Press on Thursday, the New England Patriots quarterback won’t appear on stage. Brady is friends with presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.

Trump told Fox News Channel on Tuesday: “We have people that aren’t only political people. We have a lot of people that are just champions and winners.”

Hall of Fame basketball coach Bob Knight has endorsed Trump, but he will not be part of the program. Nor will boxing promoter Don King, a Cleveland resident and passionate Trump supporter.

From sports, Tebow, the Heiman Trophy-winning quarterback from Florida, will be featured, as will UFC President Dana White and pro golfer Natalie Gulbis.

The convention is July 18-21 in Cleveland at Quicken Loans Arena.
