Many courses featured in our Golf Deals take you outside of the Metro Area, but Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois is located right in the middle.
"It's in great shape and it's fair for all levels of golfers," says Todd Winter, Golf Services Manager. "We have some really challenging Par 3s, but we also have forward tees for kids and beginners to play. We have a really popular women's league, so we have you covered across the board. It's a golf course for everybody."
Todd says #18 is the hole they're known for, because of a special characteristic.
"It's a really neat finishing hole," he explains. "It's a Par 3 with a tree hanging over the right side. It used to be a lot bigger. It blew down in a storm a few years ago, but it's still kind of our signature hole."
Rock Island owns both Saukie Golf Course and Highland Springs Golf Course. The city-owned aspect allows the course to be a gathering place for the entire community, not just a select few.
"It's conveniently located right in the middle of the city and it provides natural green space for our neighbors here, too," says Todd.
