DAVENPORT, Iowa --  A pair of Davenport teenagers have been charged with first degree murder, and intimidation with a dangerous weapon in connection with the June 26 shooting death of 15-year-old Ayana Culbreath.

Culbreath was shot at a backyard party in the 4200 block of Warren Street on Sunday, June 26, 2016. Culbreath was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment where she was pronounced dead.

After a nearly 10-day investigation, Davenport Police Wednesday charged 17-year-old Trevor Owens and 14-year-old Kamario Hill with first degree murder and intimidation with a dangerous weapon with intent. Owens is being in the Scott County Jail, and Hill is being held in the juvenile detention center.

The affidavits filed in Scott County District Court indicate that both Owen and Hill are accused of firing guns in the incident.  The affidavits did not say how many or what type of weapons were used.  According to the narrative portion of both affidavits, Owens and Hill are accused of firing "a handgun towards an assembly of people with the intent to injure or provoke fear."
