SPRINGFIELD, Illinois — Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner signed SB 2047 June 30, giving the Illinois Lottery the legal authority to continue all prize payouts. In December, Rauner had signed a bill that allowed the Lottery to pay its winners even in the absence of a budget, but that authority expired June 30.

“By passing SB 2047, Governor Rauner and the General Assembly are ensuring that the Illinois Lottery can continue its mission of supporting K-12 education, capital projects and select charitable causes throughout Illinois,” said Acting Director Tim McDevitt.

Prizes $600 and under can continue to be claimed at Lottery retailers across Illinois. Winners of larger cash prizes can be claimed at any Lottery Claim Center, which can be located at illinoislottery.com.
