BETTENDORF, Iowa – Quad City area schools have teamed up once again for the annual First Day Project.

According to organizers, the First Day Project was started back in 2006 as a way to coordinate and enhance school supply collections taking place throughout the Quad Cities.

The community is being invited to donate school supplies to help ensure all students have access to reliable supplies. Organizers say they believe the First Day Project helps students start the year with confidence.

Donations help support students in Davenport Community School District, Moline- Coal Valley School District No. 40, Rock Island/Milan School District #41, Bettendorf Community School District and Pleasant Valley Community School District.

WQAD will host a Drive through school supply Drop Off on Wednesday, July 27 outside of our studios at 3003 Park 16th Street in Moline, Illinois. The event will be held from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
