DAVENPORT, Iowa-- Kids with relatives diagnosed with cancer got a chance to learn what they can do to help out at home Wednesday, June 29.
Genesis Cancer Care Institute in Davenport hosted Camp Genesis, a free camp for kids. Campers learned about different types of cancer as well as other things that might come in handy in case of an emergency.
Camper Sarah Dyar says this was also a good way to find friends to talk to about her mother's battle with cancer.
"There's more people out there who are going through the same situation and there's also people to talk to if I need to talk to anyone and just overall learning more about our situation is kind of helping me balance out what i'm going through," she says.
This was one of many activities for the campers, they also went horseback riding and zip lining earlier this week.
