MOLINE, Illinois – A Moline convenience store was reportedly robbed by an armed man about 20 minutes after a similar robbery happened in Davenport, Iowa.
The Davenport robbery happened at about 9:45 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2016 at the QC Mart at 1313 East River Drive. Police said a male suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from the store clerk.
About 20 minutes later, the Moline robbery was reported at the Gasland at 1305 15th Street. One man was purchasing a few items at the register when a second man entered the store; the second man was armed with a semi-automatic handgun and his face was covered with a black bandana. He demanded money and several bottles of liquor, according to Moline Police.
The other suspect was described as a black male, 5-feet 7-inches tall with a medium build and an “afro-style haircut,” police said. He wore a yellow-orange short-sleeved shirt, with a white t-shirt under it, and black pants.
Witnesses said both men may have left the Moline scene in a small, four-door maroon-colored car.
“Detectives from both agencies (Moline and Davenport police departments) are working together to identify these suspects,” said a statement from Moline Police.
