DAVENPORT, Iowa - It's been 25 years riverboat gambling in the Quad Cities and now this weekend is the last time people will be able to hit the black jack tables at the Rhythm City riverboat. It's going to be sailing away to make way for its new location on land.
This summer both of the Quad Cities gaming boats will follow the lead of other and take off down the river.
For Rhythm City Casino it only has a few days left for passengers to come aboard.
Many have been going there from the start.
"I`ve been coming since they put the boat in the water," said patron, Cherrill Kipp.
It's the atmosphere that has brought many of its customers back.
"It kind of gives you that little bit of movement now and then especially when it storms," said Kipp.
For Rick Dawson, he's had a lot of memories there, "When my mom and them would come up we'd go on the boat, you know have dinner and gamble a little bit."
While there's excitement for something new to begin, there's also a bit of sadness for something old coming to an end.
"I hate to see them go really, I mean it's part of the era," Art Deop.
The boat has been sold and will be moved to Tennessee where it will be used as a floating restaurant.
Rhythm City is still looking for a buyer for the barge.
The community has until the end of the day Sunday, June 12, 2016 to gamble there.
