MUSCATINE, Iowa — Two vehicle fires that happened at the same time are being considered suspicious.

Someone called 911 to report a car on fire in the 800 block of E. 6th Street around 2:30 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2016.  When first responders arrived they found two vehicles on fire, according to a statement from Fire Marshal Mike Hartman.

“Due to the situation found, this is being treated as a pair of suspicious fires,” read the statement.

Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fires, and there were no injuries reported, said Hartman’s statement.

The vehicles were moved so investigators could continue working on the case, Hartman said.

Both Muscatine Fire and Police Departments helped at the scene.
