ANKENY, Iowa (AP) — Two drivers, including an Ankeny police officer, were taken to a hospital with injuries after a crash that closed off part of a highway in Ankeny.

Iowa State Patrol Sgt. Nate Ludwig says Officer Jeffrey Davis was responding to a call Wednesday morning, June 1, 2016 and driving with his lights and sirens on when he crashed into a pickup at the intersection of U.S. Highway 69 and Southeast Third Street.

The Des Moines Register reports Davis suffered a minor injury to his foot or lower leg. The condition of the pickup driver, 61-year-old Peter Roeder, wasn’t available.

A portion of the highway was closed for about two hours.

Authorities are reviewing dash camera footage and nearby surveillance video to determine who had the green light to go in the intersection.
