ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - A quiet moment, as classmates and friends prepare to remember Rock Island High School student, Tyler John.
"If they never met him, they're really missing out because he was really amazing and he was very talented," said student Courtney Wickard.
Friends of John described the 17-year-old as determined, fun-loving and a shoulder to lean on.
"The whole band is just a huge family and he was there for me like a brother would be," said Wickard.
John was found dead in the pool at Hillcrest Resort in Orion, Illinois over Memorial Day weekend, it came as a shock to his friends.
"Of all the people I didn't think it was gonna be him like no one thinks it's ever gonna be that person," said student Zach Hurt.
Through the tears his friends tried to laugh at the good times and were able to get a little bit of closure releasing balloons in his memory.
"A little bit more easement to the fact that he's, he is gone and there`s no bring that back," said student Robert Ducey.
"He knows he`ll never be forgotten," said Wickard.
