GALESBURG, Illinois — A Galesburg soldier killed in the line of duty will get a special tribute during this weekend's Nascar Spring Cup Series race.
A viewer sent this photo to us, showing the name of Army Staff Sgt. Kyle Wehrly on the car of six-time Nascar Spring Cup champion Jimmie Johnson. At 28 years old, Staff Sgt. Wehrly was killed in 2005 when his vehicle hit a roadside bomb in Iraq.
It's part of Nascar's 600 Miles of Remembrance for Memorial Day weekend, and ever car in Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 will carry the name of a fallen soldier.
