Luckily, the Iowa QCs didn’t make the top 10, but we weren’t that far off, either.

A website analyzed over 80 Iowa communities to find the ones that induce the most stress.

Zippia.com considered towns with a population over 5,000 and looked at long commutes, unemployment, average hours worked, population density, percentage of income spent on rent and the percentage of population without health insurance.

Zippia is a career resource that offers data and statistics on companies and areas that are hiring, career lengths and career pay.

The study found Iowa cities with the most stress are as follows:

  1. Anamosa
  2. Perry
  3. Red Oak
  4. Des Moines
  5. Ottumwa
  6. Council Bluffs
  7. Winterset
  8. Knoxville
  9. Newton
  10. Washington

Although the QCs didn’t make the top 10, Davenport ranked 16. The report says 44.8 percent of the Davenport population lives with high rent. Muscatine ranked 21 and Iowa City ranked 25.

Coralville, Burlington, Clinton, Eldridge and Bettendorf were also looked at but fell much further down on the list.
