ERIE, Illinois - People across the nation are coming forward saying a local company ripped them off.

Alexander King Farms originally from Atkinson, Illinois is a family run business that provides beef or pork to customers.

One of those customers is Kim Dollieslager

She wanted to stay local and small so she ordered half a hog from Alexander King Farms.

"They were advertising on Facebook on one of the swap sites that I belong to and it sounded like a really good opportunity so we signed up," said Dollieslager.

Back in September 2015, she paid in full to buy the meat and have it processed.

Part of Alexander King Farm's promise is free delivery. Dollieslager was told she would have her order the first of May.

Alexander's takes its beef to several different meat lockers to have the processing done. The one that has Dollieslager's hog said it no longer does business with Alexander's, telling Dollieslager Alexander had not picked up any of its meat orders nor paid a processing fee.

"If we wanted it to pick it up we would have to repay the processing fee and proved that we had paid Alexander King Farms for the hog," said Dollieslager.

Dollieslager hasn't been able to reach Alexander's since then.

She did some research and found she wasn't alone, there's a Facebook group called People Against Alexander King Farms, close to 300 people a part of the page.

"We don`t hold on any hope of getting any money back," said Dollieslager.

The Better Business Bureau gives the business an "F rating", stating complaints have come from several different states.

The Better Business Bureau says there are 22 closed cases and 77 pending cases.

News 8 reached out to Alexander King Farms owners, calling their number several times. No one picked up and their voicemail box was full.
