Two airlifted to hospital following crash in McDonough County

Two people were airlifted to a hospital following a car crash in McDonough County around 3:10 p.m. Friday, May 20. v

MCDONOUGH COUNTY, Illinois — Two people were airlifted to a hospital and a few others were injured following a car crash in McDonough County around 3:10 p.m. Friday, May 20.

Illinois State Police say Jean Danielson, 73, of Colchester, Illinois was driving southbound on McDonough County Road 600 E at Illinois Route 336. Danielson stopped at a stop sign, then entered the intersection and was struck by a car driven by Jennifer Lambert, 24, of Carthage, Illinois.

Eilleen Rampley, 88, of Sutter, Illinois was a passenger of the second vehicle and was airlifted to the hospital. Danielson was also airlifted to the hospital.  Both suffered serious injuries, according to Illinois State Police.

Lambert and a juvenile passenger from each vehicle were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The incident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.

McDonough County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Secretary of State Police, Colchester Fire and Rescue and McDonough District Hospital Ambulance.
