Two people were home when a fire broke out at a house in Bettendorf, Iowa.

The fire happened at a home in the 800 block of 31st Street and was reported around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016. It was contained to the kitchen, according to Assistant Fire Chief Steven Knorrek, with the Bettendorf Fire Department.

The two people who were home were treated for smoke inhalation and released, Knorreck said.

A WQAD News 8 crew on scene said it smelled like smoke, but there was no visible damage from the outside.

Firefighters from Bettendorf and Riverdale reported to the scene.

The cause of the fire was under investigation,
