DUBUQUE, Iowa — A man who was found unresponsive after crashing a motorcycle later died from his injuries, authorities say.
The crash happened on the Heritage Trail, just north of 30th Street on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, according to a statement from Lt. Scott Baxter. The driver, 25-year-old Spencer J. Dress from Dubuque, crashed on the motorcycle around 12:20 a.m.
Investigators say the driver was riding along the trail “at a high rate of speed and lost control.” He was taken to a nearby hospital before being airlifted to another.
In an updated statement, Lt. Baxter confirmed that Dress succumbed to his injuries.
