MOLINE, Illinois-- Mills Chevy is getting ready for the next chapter of business, but it's going to mean breaking away from its location in Moline. For Mills Chevrolet Company President David Mills this decision to move has hit a little close to home.
"It was tough to leave Moline, we love Moline. I was born and raised in Moline, our businesses have been there since the early 50s so we got a stake in the ground we love Moline but you know it served a purpose for 50 years there," he says.
The new location will be in Davenport on north Elmore Avenue and Veterans Memorial Parkway. It will be the only Chevrolet dealer in the area and the exclusivity may mean more business for the company. Mills hopes to sell around 100 new cars a month.
Although they will no longer be selling cars in Moline, Mills Chevy plans to keep their old location open but only for mechanical and collision repairs.
Mills says the company plans to provide those services until they come up with other plans for the property.
The new Mills Chevrolet in Davenport will open July 8.
