DAVENPORT, Iowa-- Quad city libraries have figured out a way to stay connected, they start their new share program, May 17.

Libraries on the Illinois side will be switching over to PrarieCat Catalog, from the RiverShare Catalog also used bylibraries in Davenport and Bettendorf.

This initially would have limited the access to Davenport card holders in libraries in Illinois, but through the new program people can still check things out from either side of the river.

Libraries in Davenport are the only ones participating in this share program, Director Amy Groskopf says because of this, patrons from Illinois must return checked out materials from Davenport back to the library they initially came from.

" Any of the Illinois library card holders that would use the davenport public library they have to return those materials to the location they got it from In IL I think they can be a little more flexible so it would have to be returned to one of the IL libraries."

Under the new share program, people in Davenport will also no longer be able to put materials on hold in Illinois.
