A local man, who is a volunteer baseball coach and substitute teacher at LaSalle-Peru High School, is charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a minor.

PERU, Illinois - A local man, who is a volunteer baseball coach and substitute teacher at LaSalle-Peru High School, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a minor.

Kyle Pisano was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim over the age of 5, according to online court records.  The charges stemmed from Pisano's alleged sexual contact with a female student between 13 and 17 years of age according to a report from the Bureau County Republican. There was no evidence of any additional victims.

District administrators were notified of the allegations Thursday, April 28; the internal investigation began the next day and Pisano voluntarily resigned that day, the report said.

The internal investigation continued over the weekend; Pisano was arrested at his Peru home Tuesday, May 3, 2016.

Online court records show that in March of 2018 Pisano pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse and was sentenced to serve 180 days in LaSalle County Jail.  He was also sentenced to serve three years of probation.
