But then, just hours later, Kasich seemed to change his mind, dropping out of the race entirely. The conventional candidate in an unconventional race outlasted all the other governors in the Republican field. But, ultimately, Kasich announced he's dropping out at a news conference in his home state of Ohio.
If Clinton does become the Democratic nominee, she's already leading big against Trump. In a new CNN-ORC poll, Clinton leads Trump 54 to 41%, a 13 point lead. There is a possible positive for Trump in the poll. He beats Clinton by a 5% margin on the question of who would do a better job handling the economy. And almost 9 out of 10 voters in the poll called the economy extremely or very important to their vote for president. But, that vote's still 6 months away.
