Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has suspended his Presidential campaign on the heels of a big loss to presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump in Indiana.

Trump received 53% of the vote and could receive all 57 Republican delegates from Indiana.

Trump told cheering supporters he was going to "win bigly".

"It is a beautiful thing to watch, and a beautiful thing to behold," Trump said.

"We are going to make America great again."

Ted Cruz had conceded just minutes earlier.

"Together we left it all in the field in Indiana, we gave it everything we got," Sen. Cruz told Indiana supporters.

"With a heavy a heart, but with boundless optimism, for the long term future of our nation, we are suspending our campaign."

He did not endorse Trump.

In fact, the war of words between the two men intensified as Indiana voters were going to the polls.

Trump was on Fox News in the morning accusing Cruz’s father of having ties to John F. Kennedy assassin Lee Harvey Oswald.

"I mean, what was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death, before the shooting? It's horrible.”

Cruz struck back.

The Cruz campaign told ABC News today in a statement, "Trump is detached from reality, and his false, cheap, meaningless comments every day indicate his desperation to get attention and willingness to say anything to do so."

Trump has not formally secured the 1,237 delegates he needs to win the Republican nomination.  But there is no major opposition blocking his path.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich finished a distant third in Indiana.
