LONG GROVE, Iowa — A woman has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing her husband while he slept.
A 911 call from 64-year-old Ardell Oster came in just before 1 a.m., on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, according to a statement from the Scott County Sheriff’s Department.
“Oster advised that he had woke up to his wife Patricia Oster stabbing him,” read the statement.
Police arrested 63-year-old Patricia Jean Oster, the statement said. She was charged with attempted murder, and her bond was set at $25,000. Patricia Oster was in custody at the Scott County Jail, records show.
According to a report by the Quad City Times, Patricia told deputies that her husband had tried to rape her. Deputies found that neither of the two appeared to have any other injuries or defensive marks.
Her husband was listed in critical condition.
