A Boeing B-17 plane visited the Quad Cities on a tour around the country.

For a weekend, Quad Citians will be able to take a ride on the historic plane, which dates back to WWII.

The bomber plane, known as the Flying Fortress, was used to strike targets within enemy territory.  Click here to read the history of the Boeing B-17.

On Thursday, April 28, 2016, the plane landed at the Davenport Airport.  Organizers invited veterans to gather and watch it land at the airport. They were given tours and were offered a ride on the plane.

Rides are available from April 29 through May 1. Click here for pricing and other information.

Boeing B-17’s next step is Nebraska.
