One man accused of robbing two Davenport banks

One man is being accused of robbing two banks within three days in Davenport.

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- One man is being accused of robbing two banks within three days in Davenport.

The first robbery was reported at Northwest Bank and Trust on Monday, April 25, 2016. The second reported robbery was at US Bank on Wednesday, April 27. Police announced Thursday that 38-year-old Shawn Lee from Davenport was arrested and charged in connection with both.

At the Northwest Bank and Trust robbery, police said the man "implied a weapon," but it was not clear whether he was actually armed.

At the US Bank robbery, Lee asked for and was given cash in one hundred and fifty dollar bills, according to the affidavit.

Lee was arrested at 53rd and Division Streets, after police were given a description of his vehicle and a plate number, said the affidavit.

The affidavit indicated that Lee was wearing the same clothes that were described in the US Bank robbery, and that he had "a large amount of cash in one hundred and fifty dollar denominations." He was charged with two counts of second-degree robbery and was booked into the Scott County Jail around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday.

There were no injuries reported in either incident.
