DAVENPORT, Iowa — The clerk at a gas station was assaulted during a reported robbery, police say.

The robbery happened at Mother Hubbard’s in the 300 block of Division Street, according to a statement from the Davenport Police Department. It was around 3:30 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2016.

“The suspect jumped the counter and assaulted the clerk,” read the statement.  The alleged robber got away with cash and a pack of cigarettes.

The robber was described as a black male, standing about 5-feet, 8-inches tall, and weighing 130 pounds.

Nobody was seriously injured, police said.
