Damaged white Mercedes sought after hit and run with bicyclist in Davenport

Police are looking for a specific vehicle after a bicyclist was hurt in a hit and run crash.

The incident happened in the 4400 block of Jersey Ridge Road on Saturday, April 2, 2016 around 10:20 p.m., said a statement from the Davenport Police Department.

Police said a 56-year-old man was riding a bike and was hurt in the hit and run.  He was taken to a nearby hospital before being transferred to Iowa City where he was treated for serious injuries. The bicyclist has since been released.

Investigators were looking for a  white Mercedes Benz that has passenger-side damage, according to the statement. The Benz they are seeking is a 2010 or newer and has an E-class design.
