SCOTT COUNTY, Iowa – Three finalists have been named as the field narrows in the search for the next Scott County Administrator.
After about 35 years of service, Dee Bruemmer announced in November 2015 that she will retire from the position in the spring of 2016. Bruemmer was an assistant administrator for 27 years before she was appointed to the county administrator position in 2008.
A national search yielded a field of 36 applicants for the position; now that field is narrowed to three finalists, including two from our area.
The finalists include Raytown, Missouri City Administrator Mahesh Sharma; Muscatine, Iowa City Administrator Gregg Mandsager; and Galesburg, Illinois City Administrator Todd Thompson. Sharma manages a staff of 224 and budget of $30 million; Mandsager manages a staff of 224 and budget of $58 million; and Thompson manages a staff of 227 and budget of $57 million.
The finalists have been invited to meet with staff and board members in-person the week of April 25. The board hoped to have the new city administrator selected and in office by June 2016.
