DECORAH, Iowa (AP) — Extra security steps have been taken at schools in Decorah because of what the district says was a threat.
The district says that after discussion with the Decorah Police Department and the Winneshiek County attorney, “precautionary safety measures will be taken at all district buildings.”
The district didn’t provided details about what led to Monday’s scheduled lockdown of all the school buildings after classes begin. The Decorah Police Department says a person angry about a curriculum matter at Carrie Lee Elementary had sent an email that raised the security concerns.
