Local man found a week after he vanished from Mt. Pleasant crash scene

A local man was reported missing two days after he was involved in a crash in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Updated Wednesday, April 20, 2016 -- 

A spokesperson with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department said Justin Hay was located on Monday, April 18.

He was at an area hospital, located about 20 miles from the scene of the crash.

Police did not immediately release when, or how, Hay got to the hospital.

MT. PLEASANT, Iowa - A local man was reported missing two days after he was involved in a crash in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Justin Hay was last seen wearing a green sweatshirt and blue jeans.  Police say they think he was involved in a crash in the 1300 block of North Grand Avenue, in Mt. Pleasant, just after 11 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016.

"It is believed that Justin Hay fled from the accident scene on foot.  The family has not heard from him since," said a statement from the Henry County, Iowa Sheriff's Office.

The family reported him as a missing person Monday, April 11.

Justin Hay is described as a white man, 180 pounds, with green eyes and brown hair.
