BETTENDORF, Iowa — The CCKMA organization held a fundraiser event at the Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf benefitting cancer research. 650 tickets to the event were purchased. Proceeds are given to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics research laboratory. This is the 9th year of the event, which is open to the public, but made extra special for cancer survivors in the room.

"You can put you best suit on or you can come out in a pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt it doesn't matter to us," said Todd DeWilfond, Board Director of the CCKMA organization. "We just want to get as many survivors and families here, celebrate their lives and make sure they have a fun time."

It is intended to be a night celebrating life and having a good time. A wine pull sold out within 20 minutes of the evening. Every year, a banner is created with painted handprints of cancer survivors at the event. The banners from previous years were hung throughout the room.

Money was raised at the event through 50/50 raffle, silent auction, and live auction.
