Livestock shot near Aledo, reward offered for information

MERCER COUNTY, Illinois – Police are searching for the person or people who fired shots that injured livestock in rural Aledo, Illinois on April 4, 2016.

Shots were reportedly fired at the animals Monday, April 4, 2016 in the area of 60th Avenue and 170th Street.

Two cattle had been shot with a firearm when deputies arrived. A witness described the shooter as a white male, 5’10”, approximately 20 years old and 160-180 pounds. They said he was wearing shorts and a dark colored hoodie and seen fleeing the area in a small red car.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to contact The Mercer County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-582-2762 or 309-582-3500. A reward up to $1,000 is offered to the caller who provides information that leads to the arrest of the shooter. Callers may remain anonymous.
