ELDRIDGE, Iowa – A school bus was carrying dozens of students when it was involved in a crash in Eldridge, Iowa.

The crash was reported in the 400 block of East LeClaire Road just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016.  The location is just a few blocks from North Scott Junior and Senior high schools.

Initial reports indicated approximately 40 students were on the bus when it was involved in the crash.  That number was later reduced to about 30 students according to a school official at the crash scene.  The students were all from North Scott junior and senior high schools, according to police.

The students and driver were checked out by emergency medical personnel, and none of them were injured according to North Scott Schools Superintendent Joe Stutting.

Some parents responded to the crash scene to pick up their children, and other students were taken home by another bus from the North Scott School District.

A parent at the scene said the kids were okay but that a driver, from a car that collided with the bus, was taken by ambulance to a hospital.  Police said that driver’s injuries were not life-threatening.
