Thousands of QC area residents without power, expected to be restored by 1 p.m.

QUAD CITIES – MidAmerican’s power outage maps estimates that at least 8,000 customers are without power in the Quad City region as of 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2. That number has grown from 6,000 at 10 a.m.

MidAmerican customers from Blue Grass, Iowa all the way to Port Byron, Illinois are affected.

Power is expected to be restored by 1 p.m., according to MidAmerican’s outage map.

Areas with the most customers affected by the outages are Blue Grass in Iowa and Rock Island and East Moline in Illinois.

WQAD is receiving unconfirmed reports of downed power lines near residential areas. Remember to stay away from any downed power lines and report them to MidAmerican by visiting their website or calling 888-427-5632.
