BETTENDORF, Iowa — Parents are learning just how many programs exist for kids with special needs right here in the Quad Cities.

The "Hand-In-Hand" Special Needs Resources Expo on Saturday, April 2, offered one-stop shopping for parents and teachers. Families stopped at booths to learn about services for mentally and physically disabled kids and young adults.

Programs range from therapy and childcare to adaptive sports.

"I think some families just feel helpless sometimes when they think that there's nothing out there for their child or for their family that works, but there is so much in the Quad Cities available to families," said Elizabeth VanCamp of Hand In Hand.

Hand-In-Hand is a nonprofit that offers year-round learning experiences for both special and typical needs children.
