DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Drake University has issued a warning to students and is increasing patrols in response to reports of a man trying to pull a woman into his car.
A student reported that an older, balding man in a boxy red car tried to pull her into his vehicle on University Avenue, the Des Moines Register reports.
After the university issued the alert, two more students reported seeing a similar vehicle near campus. One of the students reported that a balding man approached her and tried to get her to leave with him.
Drake’s email alert advised students to pay attention to their surroundings when walking on campus, to stay in well-lit and well-traveled areas and to walk with other people if possible.
