A driver led police on a roughly 10-mile chase from Buffalo, Iowa into Davenport.

It was right around 2 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2015 when the Buffalo Police Department tried to pull over a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Wayne A. Cole, according to a statement from the Buffalo Police Department.  Cole was driving near East Front Street and 110th Avenue (close to where Buffalo Shores Park is located) when police said he crossed the center line multiple times.

The driver tried to outrun the police according to the statement, and reached speeds around 80 mph.

During the chase, Davenport Police set out stop sticks, which ultimately deflated the driver’s front two tires, police said.  The vehicle finally stopped on East River Drive just east of 3rd Street.

Police say Cole was then taken into custody.

Cole was held in the Scott County Jail on $3,200 bond, according to jail records. Cole was charged with eluding a law enforcement vehicle, speeding, failure to obey a traffic signal, failure to obey a stop sign, and improper use of lanes.

Another, separate chase took place overnight from Davenport to Bettendorf on Wednesday that led to the arrests of eight people — click here.
