ROCK ISLAND, Illinois — Workers are setting up dream landscapes and backyard patios brick by brick at the Quad Cities Conservation Alliance (QCCA) Expo Center. Rob Junker, Show Director of the QQCA Flower and Garden Show, says this is the most exhaustive process in terms of work, to set up displays compared to all the events hosted at the expo center. Crews shifted shrubs into place, pruned limbs off budding trees, and laid brick pavers.

The warming spring temperatures have yard work on the minds of many,  but Junker wants people to put the shovel down and be inspired by the landscape displays and event speakers the show has to offer.

"It's going to be rainy this weekend hopefully," Junker said. "If you're a garden pro, you wish it was nice and sunny, but we want you here this weekend so we're really excited for the show."

The show is open to the public Friday, April 1, 2016 through Sunday, April 3.  Tickets can be purchased in advance at area Hy-Vee stores or at the door. Tickets for the show are $8 for adults, $1 for children 6-15 and free for children 5 and under. Friday is Senior Day, 65+ get into the show from 10am to 4pm for $6. A Preview Gala for the event is held on Thursday, March 31. Tickets for the preview are available for purchase in advance at the QCCA Expo Center office located at 2621 4th Avenue in Rock Island and at the door.
