A man in  Silvis, Illinois says he's tired of waiting to be repaid for the damages done to his truck by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Scott Sappington's truck was splattered with paint when he made a lane change in an area where IDOT crews were working to redo the road lanes. After investigating what had happened, IDOT sent Scott a letter admitting fault and promised to repay him for the damage. Seven months later, Scott is still waiting to be reimbursed for more than $1,500 dollars in repairs.

Although he had been approved to receive a payment, Scott received another letter from IDOT saying Illinois has no funds to pay for the damages until a state budget is passed.  Having paid for the repairs out of pocket, Scott is determined to get the money he says he's owed.

"I just want my money, if they would just pay me I would leave them alone. I'm rightfully owed that money, that's what's pushing me to get the money back from the state," he says.

After getting the run around from different state departments Scott is so frustrated his next move is to move out of Illinois all together and move to Iowa.
