Pursuit follows home invasion involving a stun gun in Davenport

DAVENPORT, Iowa – What started as a fight, involving several people at a fast food restaurant, later led to a home invasion and police pursuit in Davenport.

A large fight involving at least four people was reported at Checker’s, 2310 W. Kimberly Road, just before 10:30 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2016.  Police arrived to see people actively fighting, but several of those people ran as officers arrived.  Kiara Nathaniel, 25, of Davenport, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct by fighting.

Jail records showed Nathaniel spent just over a half-hour in custody before she was released from the Scott County Jail.

Hours later, police were called to investigate a home invasion at an apartment in the 400 block of Betsy Ross Place just before 1 a.m. Tuesday, March 29.  Four people allegedly kicked in the door to the apartment and physically assaulted Nathaniel and another female in the apartment.

“A stun gun was reported to have been used in the assault,” said a statement from the Davenport Police Department.

Police spotted the four home invasion suspects in a vehicle in the area of 65th Street and Veteran’s memorial Parkway, and pursued the suspect vehicle when it did not stop.  The pursuit lasted about a half-hour, and ended near McKinley and Concord Street after police used a tire deflation device to flatten the suspects’ tires during the pursuit.

“All four subjects were apprehended and a stun gun was recovered,” the police statement said.

Shaquille Litt, 19, of Davenport, was charged with first-degree burglary, felony eluding, conspiracy to commit a forcible felony and interference with official acts in connection with the alleged home invasion; he was also charged with rioting in connection with the fight at Checker’s.

Breanna Thompson, 20, of Davenport, was charged with first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit a forcible felony, and interference with official acts in connection with the alleged home invasion; she was also charged with rioting in connection with the fight at Checker’s.

Lameishia Moore, 20, of Davenport, was charged with first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit a forcible felony, and interference with official acts in connection with the alleged home invasion; she was also charged with rioting and third-degree criminal mischief in connection with the fight at Checker’s.

Litt, Thompson and Moore were each held in the Scott County Jail in lieu of $27,000 bond.

Johnathan Washington, 17, of Clinton, was also charged with first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit a forcible felony, and interference with official acts in connection with the alleged home invasion.  He was initially held in the Scott County Jail.
