SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — A 28-year-old South Carolina woman was killed in what authorities called a “freak accident” at a drive-thru on Wednesday morning, according to WCSC.

Pamela Page, 28, of North Charleston, S.C., died at approximately 8:52 a.m. Wednesday, the Dorchester County coroner said.

Page was at the drive-thru of Biggby Coffee in Summerville, S.C., when she apparently dropped something out of her car.

Page opened her car door and bent down to pick it up.

According to a police incident report, it appears she had her foot on the brake and her vehicle in drive while she bent down to pick up the items, but that her foot slipped off the brake while she was retrieving the items. This caused the vehicle to move forward and the driver’s side door struck a pillar causing the door to pin her, the report states.

The coroner said Page died from blunt force trauma to the head and neck.

Biggby Coffee’s owner told WCSC he and his employees are in shock that something like this happened.

A friend of the family said Page had three young children, the youngest just a few months old.
