ROCK ISLAND, Illinois — An emergency water main break in Rock Island may mean residents will see discolored water. The main break at 49th Avenue between 8th and 11th Streets also mean that there may be travel delays until the main is fixed.

“There are no indications at this time that the water is unsafe for consumption,” said a statement from the Rock Island Public Works Director.

City officials ask that drivers follow any posted construction signs.
